San Teodoro, Oriental Mindoro

I am doing this blog as one of my requirement in Environmental Management Seminar.  Honestly, this is the first time that I will prepare a blog.  I find it very hard to choose a subject for my blog about environment. Finally, I decided to write about my hometown. I want to share to you the beauty of the town.  Why? What is its relevance to environment?  I just want to show to everyone that there is a need for us to protect beautiful places that still exist on planet Earth.

Let me first give you little information on the profile of San Teodoro

San Teodoro is one of the fifteen (15) municipalities of the province of Oriental Mindoro.  It is 30 kilometers away from Calapan City, the province capital.  The municipality is accessible through land and water transportation.

It has a total land area of 369.10 sq. km.  Its rich fertile soil give birth to harvest the major crops like coconut, rice, citrus, bananas, root crops, vegetables and fruit trees.  The municipality is very much known for being rich in mineral deposits such as gold, copper, iron, white clay, sand, gravel and boulders.  It became famous for being the largest gold reservoir in the province.  The municipality is also the province's best bet in forest reserves.

San Teodoro is a fourth class municipality with a total population of 15,523 scattered in its eight (8) barangays.  Fishing is the major economic activity while farming is next to it.  There are 113 business establishments registered with the municipal government majority of which are engaged in trading.
